I read the Rum Diaries once and hated it. It was overly pretentious and singularly unengaging. Though it was an admirable attempt at trying to emulate Ernest Hemingway. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was a mediocre book at best (the movie was sweet if only because of Johnny Depp). The reasons for Hunter S. Thompson's popularity have always eluded ( Read more... )

I'm going to have to say I agree with your opinion of Hunter S. Thompson...

I've never read anything that he wrote, because Stacey made me watch Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas. Like you said, the only reason why the movie was any good was because it had Johnny Depp in it. But after seeing the movie I knew for sure that I never wanted to read anything he wrote. I just don't see what the big deal with him is either. I'm sure just saying all that will offend like, 12 billion people.

I think as a general rule, anyone who implements their middle initial into their common name is a dirtbag.

Honestly, when I was watching Fear and Loathing, I was also talking to my mom on the phone. So I didn't watch half the movie, and I wasn't really upset.

Constantine was a good bad movie.

I can't believe you said I'm hairy and terrible. And zero cool. But I guess it gets cancelled out by all that other stuff. You're the best, JIG4.

hahahaha, I didn't catch that. How is hairy and terrible a synonym for awesome Dorian?

I guess maybe I could be hairy if I didn't shave for like a week. And terrible if I didn't shower. So talk to me next week, we'll see.

I don't recall ever claiming to abstain from mushing, Sharon.

i laughed out loud (LOLZ!^%@#) at the previews for Constantine, and cannot fathom why you would go see it.

the best part about the mini is the clutch, i love it.

i enjoyed fear and loathing as a movie.

basically, i'm mildly contradicting everything in your entry.

Ian made me. I told him it was going to suck nutsack, and I was validated in the end.

You love the Mini's clutch? Why don't you marry it then! Wait till you feel the clutch on the MR2, that's what a real car should feel like. If I ever get it back, omfgwtf.

Uh...you suck!

I just reparteed your mild contradictions with a flourish.
