I totally sympathize with you on the HBP conflicts. I was upset myself after reading it, but I do enjoy it and I have theories on it, but I'm sure you know them all already so I won't bore you with the details.

As for your fic, I would love for you to finish it. I love that fic and everytime I check to see if it's updated, I'm disappointed. I would love to read more. I find that it's a wonderful fic. Please continue it! Thanx!

Please, bore me! I'd love to discuss your theories. I know what I'd like to have happen-- and I know what I think is going to happen-- but it's really anyone's guess! I was so far off the mark about book 6. It didn't go at all as I had hoped.

Don't worry about the fic-- I am going to finish it. I know it takes me an agonizingly long time to update but really I have a process-- I usually become inspired in the 11th hour as I'm proof reading for the tenth time. Thank you for posting and for saying such nice things about my story.

It was better than book 5, buy still it left me with more questions. The dating stuff just annoyed me especially the droopy Tonks bit. The story just didn't seem as good as the earlier books.

I was so annoyed with the Tonks/Lupin bit. To be honest, Tonks has never been one of my favorite characters, but I really loathed that part-- it felt tacked on to me, like "well, since everyone has fallen in love in this book, I might as well sail the the T/L ship."

I also had no interest in the "dating stuff". I understand that kids at that age will be interested in things like that so it's natural that it would progress in that way, I just wish there had been less of it in the book. I wonder how closely JKR stays to her outlines? I mean, she's had the entire 7 books plotted out for a long time, but I wonder if she had to change a lot of her ideas for HBP?

Thanks for posting

I just thought Tonks period was weird. Too much like a Mary Sue. I mean you've someone that can change their looks and it's a rare talent. Hmmm... And the whole clumsy thing. I hated it. That character did not fit in with the rest of the characters at all.

I've read JKR prowls Potter fan sites and chat rooms and I think it showed in book 6. Too much written in just for the fans. I wish she'd ignore it all stay true to her plot lines and whatever she had planned out from day one.

Too much like a Mary Sue.

You know, I never thought of that. I despise Mary Sues in works of fanfiction. I don't know if Tonks is actually a Mary Sue, but when I re-read HBP I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

I also wonder how much JKR listens to the fans. I'm glad that she listens to us, but I also think she should NOT act upon what we say-- she has thousands of readers worldwide and for every idea that 100 fans love there are 100 fans that hate it. I hope that she's continued on with her story as she imagined it.

I was torn between crying and screaming in rage after HBP. I've decided to reserve judgement until I've read the seventh book all the way. At the moment, I'm finding I really like fanfiction more. It always seems to turn out better.

Speaking if which...I am absolutely in love with your story. I would be thrilled if there was a sequel to Circumstance. I'm excited for a new chapter soon and I'm on the edge of my seat about how this is going to end. I think you are an amazing writer and you should definetely do more fanfiction, even if it's not a sequel. Keep up the good work, I look forward to reading anything you write!

First off-- "iSnape" *dies* Your icon is great!

I've decided to reserve judgement until I've read the seventh book all the way.

This is very wise. I'm trying to have this kind of outlook-- but I just remember how much I looked forward to book 6 and how upset it made me and I know I'll always have a sore spot about this book. I really almost gave all my Harry Potter books away (instead I've placed them under my bed).

What do you think will become of Snape by the end of book 7?

Such nice things you say about my story and my writing! Thank you! I never know if what I post is any good. I'm always surprised, but it's so nice to hear such wonderful comments. I don't know if there can be a sequel to Circumstance-- I'm not sure if I have enough material to cover a whole story. I suppose I should ask this question again when I'm finished with it. I very much enjoy writing it and I know I'll be sad when I'm done.

When he killed Dumbledore, and it said Snape had hate and revulsion on his face, those were the same words used to describe Harry's feelings as he was forced to feed the poison to Dumbledore. Just like Harry had to obey Dumbledore no matter what, Snape had to do the same. This is the hope that I hold on to-- this juxtaposition of emotions, first shown on Harry and then mirrored in Snape-- I think this is very telling. I think if Harry could only realize that Snape didn't want to kill Dumbledore but had to in the exact same way that Harry didn't want to feed poison to Dumbledore but had to, then I think there's hope for Snape in the next book ( ... )

If he must die, I would much rather is be in a heroic way than as him being evil and being killed by Harry or something. That would just be awful.

I don't want Snape to die either, but I really think he has a very slim chance of making it through book 7 unless he can get Harry in his corner. And you're right-- if he has to die-- let it be a hero's death, not a traitor's.

Hopes for Snape re_bar March 28 2006, 00:13:31 UTC
What do I think will happen to Snape? I'm with the conspiracy theory. Snape was ordered to kill Dumbledore, he had a momentary lapse of sanity but he's fine now, there was some new prophecy saying Dumbledore had to die for Harry to win...whatever. Snape good. If it turns out (God/Merlin forbid) that Snape is bad, I think I'm just going to pick my favorite fanfiction and choose to believe that that ending is really what happened.

What I think happened is that Snape made that unbreakable vow, prepared to die for both Draco and Dumbledore but Dumbledore wouldn't let that happen-- saw potential in Snape to position himself in such a way that he could find the horcruxes and relay the locations to the order-- so he forced Snape kill him instead to keep his oath and stay alive and finish his work for the order.

Perhaps that's a stretch, but that's what I think the plan was-- what Dumbledore thought up.

Honestly, I think Snape is a gonner. I think if he's working for Voldie, Harry's going to kill him (or someone from the Order). If he's working for Dumbledore, Voldie's going to kill him. And even if he's working for Dumbledore, I think Harry (or someone) might kill him before it's made known that he was working for the Order all along.

Has anyone else noticed that there's been a trend of deaths in every book since book 4? Do you think that JKR is trying to tell us something? Or prepare us for what is about to happen?
