Honestly, the response to this here, on Facebook, and in real-life has been amazing. So far, the only people who don't care to see us again is the mall. We've had several other establishments offer to let us prance up and down their aisles since. We're thinking we'll hit up the Toys R Us on Friday. ♥

Ugh. Sounds like the real Grinches there are the mall managers. =( *HUGS* I'm glad you and your dad were able to find another location that doesn't have quite a big candy cane up their collective asses.

And btw, your costumes look AMAZING. *_*

I agree. We had one person on Facebook suggesting Dad give the costume to the manager instead, as he'd probably make a fantastic Grinch. XD

Thanks, darling. ♥

Exactly what are you supposed to be "soliciting"? SMILES ARE NOT FREE? Do they suspect you of being in a demonic cult that sacrifices virgin babies by way of spreading good cheer? Sheesh!

Sorry that you had to put up with this nonsense, bb. :(

I have no idea! I even looked up every definition of soliciting to make sure I'd not missed something- the only thing I could find was an archaic usage meaning, "to provoke." Most of them had to do with appealing to someone in the hopes of getting something in return, or selling your body for money.

Needless to say, we weren't doing either of those, unless you count that we wanted people to smile as getting something in return. HOW DARE WE. WE ARE CLEARLY BAD PEOPLE.

What a bunch of scrooges. WTF. Obviously, Christmas cheer is not allowed at Malls. Santa? Santa who?

That's just messed up. You should start a petition!

I love my Grimmy-clone! <3

We've gotten quite a bit of support from the community, including other stores who have said they'd be thrilled to have us! We're thinking of going to Toys R Us on Friday, then going back to Sam's Club for a while.

And seriously, I can understand that not everyone likes Christmas, especially with how super commercialized it is nowadays, but it's easy enough to ignore us. There are so many people whose faces just light up, though!

Jeeze, sorry to hear they wanted to ruin your holiday cheer for no good reason :/

Yeah, we're still trying to figure the reasoning out ourselves. I think one person on Facebook put it best, saying that they're probably irritated we're offering something for free and possibly taking attention away from Santa. I've always said that if kids want their picture with Santa and the parents can afford it, they'll get it anyway- this is just giving something to those who can't, as well.
