Alec had a long weekend. He didn't really know what the holiday was, and didn't really care. It wasn't a major one so it didn't matter much to him. It took him maybe fifteen minutes to decide that the thing to do was visit his brother

Yeah, the place was a mess, and Ben might have been out drag racing the night before so he wasn't really awake when his brother came knocking in the afternoon. In fact, he barely made it to the front door before he stubbed his toe on the side of the couch.

There was a lot of colorful cursing from the other side of the door a moment before Ben got there. "Yeah. who is it?" he asked, looking down by habit to make sure the salt line under the duct tape was still in tact.

"Your brother." His tone was amused. "Hear to rescue you from your own furniture."

Ben opened the door, a drunken smile on his face from the lack of sleep more than any alcohol he might have ingested 9 hours ago after the races. "You realize there's this device called a phone," he teased, pulling his brother in to give him a hug.

"How the hell are you?"

Alec grinned and moved into the hug, stepping over the spot where the sslt line was automaticly. "You wouldn't have answered the damned thing anyway. To busy sleeping." Because seriously, be could tell he'd just woken his big brother up.

"I'm good. You?"
