Yesterday, I wrote 1,574 words on Chapter Three of Red Delicious and reached The End of the chapter. And the manuscript passed the 100 page mark. Chapter Three actually came out rather long, and I'm considering looking at splitting it somewhere. Frankly, I've always approached chapters as these somewhat arbitrary things that I put into books

That is marvellous. Congratulations. A "house" would most definitely be a grand thing to have.
I'm considering removing most of the chapter divisions from The Drowning Girl: A Memoir and all of them from The Red Tree for the Centipede Press editions
That seems like a closer to natural form for both titles. And, to my mind anyway, would work towards giving the two releases the feeling of being more like artifacts rather than just regularly published books. Which is more in keeping with both texts.

I agree about Imp. I think you'd have to change a lot in The Drowning Girl to remove the chapters. I do think it could be done for The Red Tree though.
