"When I go forwards you go backwards, and somewhere we will meet."

John C. Wright is almost too ridiculous to make fun of anymore, much less arouse in me any genuine anger. He's become this grotesque self-parody of a grotesque self-parody. Anyway...

Yesterday, I wrote 1,588 words on Chapter Two of Red Delicious ("The Girl"). Late in the day, the meeting with Dark Horse went very well, and perhaps there will be ( Read more... )

I'm glad your book didn't get stuck with one of those boring covers. They look ridiculous, especially when you grouped together like that. Thankfully you're here to kick this genre in the ass.

That is a great review which touches upon all the elements which make the novel such a compelling - and fun - read; I doubt I could say better and so will have to resort to a rewording-of-sorts when I post my Amazon review. I suppose the one thing I plan to stress is beneath all the razor-sharp satire there is a true (undead) heart which gives life to Quinn's world and enjoyment to those of us who visit it.

A resounding yes! Out of curiosity will there be another piece accompanying each chapter or would each issue only contain the Fay Grimmer chapter?

John C. Wright reminds me very strongly of one of my undergraduate roomies who was a moderately smart guy who'd gone to a fairly lousy high school in which he was the smartest guy around, and who had got it so stuck in his head that he would always be the smartest guy around that he was blithely incapable of grasping that at a good university he was surrounded by people at least as smart if not smarter. There is a certain degree of entertainment to be had from watching him flounder on panels with significantly smarter people who are not averse to making that clear, in an intellectual bear-baiting sort of way; in an ideal world I would get to watch him stuck between James Morrow and Peter Watts in a panel on the nature of consciousness, which I think makes me not a nice person.

Provided it's on the shelves as Chapters/Indigo claim, I shall be buying a copy of Blood Oranges this evening after work.
