"Sometimes, the hate in me is keeping me alive." (Continuation)

Yesterday, surrounded by all this white, buried in snow, hating the brightness, I wrote a vignette set entirely in the dark. In the London sewers and tunnels below Copp's Hill in Boston. It was sort of like working on one of the vignettes for Frog Toes and Tentacles and Tales from the Woeful Platypus, in that it's no more than 2k-words - 1,819 ( Read more... )

The temperature here is a damp near 50 degrees, with sleet expected, changing to all rain overnight. It's going to make filth soup of the snall inch or two of snow we have, and I'm feeling quite bitter about it. Stupid thing, to feel bitter about what the weather is going to do, but there it is all the same. So jealous of your near monotone snowscape.

Pretty, though I don't envy you. I love Spooky's hat, though!

The new vignette sounds good, I look forward to reading it.

Snowshoes are a fine thing to have handy if you have any inclination to go walk in the woods in winter. Much easier to manage than cross-country skis if you're clumsy like me. And they let you go uphill as easily as downhill. I've grown too sedentary to use them often, but my old ones are still hanging in the garage should I want/need them. Nice old fashioned rawhide and wood ones, not this new-fangled plastic or aluminum.

But Spooky must pose in her wonderous hats from time to time and it is A Sacrifice Most Appreciated.
