Endings are the toughest part of the story to write. In life we deal with transitions, some swift and unpleasant, some gradual and comforting. I'm glad you enjoyed the FRINGE wrap up.

I'm in a bit of denial. Rather than start on the final season, I've decided to re-watch the first season; it's been 4 years since I've seen it. Not wanting the ride to end.

I think endings are important because it is your last taste of a piece, the last moment in that fictional world, and it colors your memory of the whole thing. For example, with Lost, I hung in to the end and felt betrayed and disgusted by the finale. I still have a bad taste in my mouth which influences my interest in the projects that the creators of Lost have done since. Buffy and Battlestar Galactia had good finales. Don't betray the characters, your story arc or the audience. It must be challenging on a TV show where you have many writers over different years to hold the line. Authors are the ultimate showrunners!
