"...through time's dark shadowed veil."

I think that I am writing postcards to myself.

Increasingly, I find even the prospect of self-promotion to be distasteful. I know that I have to do it. All writers have to do it. Even the high-priced, classy writers with genuine pimps usually find it necessary to stoop to the self-promotion that's the only option for literary crack whores like me ( Read more... )

I do think "Pilgrims and Thunder Lizards" would be a awesome title for something.

Yes, being random today....

Vis a vis writing postcards, I trust you've seen the HP Lovecraft postcard interview (currently up on BoingBoing and other places).

Good luck with the reading goal. I'll probably mine your list when it shows up at year's end for reading list ideas.

This weekend's 'Classic Movie, with Daughter' was 'Die Hard'. We decided to explore early Alan Rickman; she'd seen the Harry Potters and 'Quigley Down Under', but with this one we went back to the beginning.

Sometimes I wish I could devote some time to RP - I enjoyed RP in AD&D when I was in high school, spending more time at it than I care to think about now.

Nope. But I actually tend to avoid that sort of thing.

It would be interesting to have you.

We tried a bit with the aborted SL Lovecraft idea a few years ago. Of course, if the Fed science funding keeps dropping the way it has been recently, I may have a lot more time on my hands in the near future.

As I said in my email response, let me know if there's anything I can help with.

Let us hope this is not the case.

Oh, shit. Sorry. Thanks for the reply. Turned out, I was fine on my own. But I ought have replied.

I read them, even if they're not written for me.

that story that isn't titled "Pilgrims and Thunder Lizards."

I look forward to finding out what it is called.

You may be writing to yourself, but I like that you post them so we can see them too. Sadly the weather seems to suck on both coasts of the US this week. It is not supposed to snow in LA and San Diego, ever.

Well, with what's happened in the Middle East, snow-wise...

Good luck with the 50 books. I'm guessing that the ratio will lean more towards non-fiction. Despite your misgivings about such things. I would be interested to see your list at year's end.

I think I got about 20 last year and would be happy just to be able to beat that in 2013.
