Howard Hughes vs. the Mystery Crud (Pt. II)

Kathryn and I are actually a bit worse today than yesterday. We have begun to suspect this is most likely a mild strain of one or another flu. I've had to cancel the reading at KGB tomorrow night. Which is just one part of the chaos this bug is sewing. I could ill afford to lose three days, so packed is April and May with deadlines. My apologies to ( Read more... )

That New Year's card Knight designed is charming. I think I came across a lot of his painting as a kid. Thanks for the link.

Sorry the virus has screwed things over for you. Be well soon.

I'm sorry that the illness has made a mess of things. I hope you both stay well enough to at least manage to read and watch some TV and films.

I still haven't got around to watching Game of Thrones. I may have to give in and buy the DVDs sooner rather than later; my attempts at frugality are so often overcome by such temptations.

May you either recover quickly, or else be transformed in new and awful ways by the invading microbes so that mundane concerns fall into their proper place beside the yawning cosmic madness. Or whatever.

May it continue to be a mild strain, and hopefully a short lasting one.

I feel you on the weather front ~ it's absolutely glorious here, and yesterday I managed to get two spectacular blisters on my feet which are keeping me from going out and walking. Sometimes we are prisoners to weakened flesh.

Please don't take offense, but when my partner and I had the same "flu" for more than a week, it was e.coli, and we ended up on a weeklong course of Flagyl and a couple of bags of saline each. So... take care of that, even if you can't afford it. We couldn't.

I won't lie - I'm sorry you won't be reading tomorrow, but the important thing is that you both take care of yourselves and feel better soon. I've never been one of those people who is able to "soldier on" when ill; I personally suspect such behaviour involves a great deal of denial and probably an early death!

Incidentally, "Game of Thrones" (both the book and the television series) RULES.
