"And I find it kind of funny. I find it kind of sad."

Yesterday, the temperature climbed near 60˚F here in Providence. Today, we'll be lucky to reach 44˚F. Presently, it's mostly cloudy and 43˚F (36˚F if you factor in the windchill). I noted that in Atlanta the temperature is currently 68˚F, and, yet, I'm still glad not to be there. I have rarely lived anywhere so bereft of a "soul" as is Atlanta. By ( Read more... )

Sorry if you've already covered this in another entry -- I'm a fairly new reader -- but how does Providence compare, soul-wise? (I'll actually be visiting the city for the first time this weekend -- really looking forward to it.)

Well, for starters, it has one. In some ways, it's like Birmingham, AL only in north and without all the homophobic rednecks (well, I'm sure they're here; I just don't see or hear them).

I have twenty-year-old diskettes filled with invaluable data I can't access without a lot of effort, and twenty-five-year old floppy disks I can't access at all (including unpublished fiction).

I bet someone reading this journal would be able to help you access the fiction on these disks. ::Fingers crossed for a chapbook or collection of newly uncovered, unpublished stories::

I think it's just not worth the trouble. The fiction is mostly crap (I'd only like to have it for my own edification). And, I suspect, some of the floppies are damaged.

*will anybody notice if I use the "cut and paste" approach?*

I won't tell if you don't.

That second photo is both gorgeous and creepy. Is the dress based on the "talks to wolves" icon?

having just spoken to my Dark Horse publicist, I fear it's not an option.

Not really, no. Both just happen to hit upon the "Little Red Riding Hood" motif.
