"And the moon rose over an open field."

Cold and rainy last night, and this morning the snow has mostly been washed away. It's warmer today, about 52˚F at this particular moment.

I'm going to try to keep this short, because I need to get some writing done today. Yesterday was all work and no writing. But, there's news. Some of it's Big and Good, but a lot of that part I can't announce ( Read more... )

Also, my favorite story from last year - "The Maltese Unicorn" - has been selected for The Year's Best Dark Fantasy and Horror 2012 (edited by Paula Guran, Prime Books).

Congratulations!

I love that first photograph of Broad Street.

Good things, pretty pictures and yummy food. Sounds like an excellent day even if you didn't get any writing done.

Mama Kim's is so good. And they seem to be serving dinner from that spot regularly, so it's about 10 minutes closer to home than the old (and still for lunch) spot up at Thayer and George.

Congrats on all your good news, even the stuff you can't spill yet. I've always wished you much success, and I'm so happy to see the victories seem to be coming with greater frequency these days.

You've peaked my curiosity with Blood River. I wish I had time for a movie night tonight, but maybe on Friday, my next best chance.

And the whole food truck concept is bloody brilliant, as is using twitter to track their locations. As much as I love my rural, little town in the middle of farm country, the lack of interesting eats prepared by someone who's not me and/or not cooking (making a mess) in my kitchen is a huge disappointment I experience almost daily.

Thank you. And yes, things are sort of amazing just now.

One of the few worthwhile uses I've found for Twitter.

Well done on The Year's Best.

If you liked that that Martin Grech song, try his album "Open Heart Zoo".

Next time we're at the record story, we're looking. I was disappointed I couldn't find the song on iTunes this a.m.

Speaking of news, Aunt Beast, did I miss a mention regarding the two ballot entries for the Stoker Awards, or were you waiting for the final lineup of nominations?
