"My head is weak, my heart always speaks, before I know what it will say."

I'll make no apologies for the tone of yesterday's post. There are no regrets. I will only offer an opaque excuse, that I have been made a party to what is, in my estimation, a sickening tragedy. One that could have easily been prevented. One I tried to prevent. And now I will carry the fact of it in my head for years ( Read more... )

The beach looked stripped raw oldfossil59 August 30 2011, 19:00:29 UTC
I've had this happen as well. I've gone to the beaches along the Potomac after tropical storms,(places that were fairly rich with shark, and skate's teeth and various fossils), expecting to find a treasure of unearthed delights-only to find the beaches quite bare, and "stripped raw" as you so succinctly described.

But I am so glad you've gotten a chance to do some birdwatching, migrates must be starting to make their way through your area soon.

Death Cab for Cutie-"Plans"- It quite an excellent collection isn't it.If you're still interested in the Depeche Mode boxed set- I'll send one soon as a congratulatory gift-for both Blood Oranges and your six month LJ marathon, which has been tremendous.

Gods, you're too generous. How am I supposed to say no to that?

But what really stuck with me wasn;t the sudden change in the water flow- both the course of the river and the speed- but was the huge driftwood like trunk of an old cedar that had been buried for who knows how long, was now bared to the sun and revealed to all.

Wow. Though, what I find the most horrifying is the human trash caught in the dead limbs post-hurricane.

Nature has a way of revealing the most beautiful things in the most destructive way.

Yes.

I'm trying to figure out what in the hell was wrong with the tone of the post. Not much so far as I can see.

It's amazing how many people on the internet are unable to comprehend that trying to calm a rabid animal only gets them bitten

It's amazing how many people don't know what a rabid animal looks/sounds like. People ignore their survival instincts.

It was pretty bitter and vicious. But then, so am I.

People ignore their survival instincts.

Yes. Hence, natural selection.
