So, no Great Trailer & Photo Shoot for The Drowning Girl this weekend. Thank you, Hurricane Irene. Early last night, watching the grave weather forecasts, Kyle and I made the decision to postpone the whole affair. Which means postponing it until early October. Even if we could have reached Moonstone Beach (the area will likely be evacuated), I'd ( Read more... )

13 named storms was enough for us.

I think this is my fourth in three years since I've moved to Providence.

It's rare, I believe, for a Hurricane to be as strong as they're predicting it to be when it reaches you.

This is an unusual scenario, yes.

The old saw's that, "Pain's temporary; celluloid's forever," or that the show must go on--but hurrifuckingcanes are different. The rain hitting here right now's already a bit too straight and has a wicked gleam on its droplets. I think you made the necessary decision and I'm looking forward to whenever the TDG shoot does happen. For it will happen.

(Before most of their success and acclaim, Peter Weller, Jeff Goldblum, Christopher Walken, and Peter Falk used to just hang out and improvise scenes together. There not being footage will remain one of the most significant tragedies of the human race up until when the Big Crunch occurs. In their way, they're all unusual actors with strange commonalities. I hope they all get to become Billy Burroughs someday and somehow.)

It has to. We've raised almost $2,500.

That is so bloody cool.

...and the walls of this old house were built with a crisscrossed lattice of steel to protect against this very thing (though it makes hanging pictures a bitch).

That is impressive.

Meanwhile, Deb Morgan is my latest profanity crush (I know most people don't get those, but I definitely have a profanity fetish; my last profanity crush was Al Swearengen).

It's impressive when done well, not just throwing 'fuck' in every other word or so. My personal profanity crush, to borrow your term, is here.

That is impressive.

Not uncommon in Victorian houses up here. It has saved many of them.

not just throwing 'fuck' in every other word or so.

Sadly, these are all from early in the show. Some of her best lines are left out.

Hmm. I wonder if my collection of old harddrive magnets would stick to your walls.

I hope the storm puts on a good show and nothing more.

Probably not.
