Ahhh, invective! It’s good to see an eloquent command of it. (My mother has been described as “a woman who can quote Elizabethan poetry and swears like a sailor”, so I never picked up on the “profanity is unladylike” meme.)

I don't think it's so much an issue of being unlady-like, as myth that those who use it do so out of ignorance.

Considering they're now evacuating parts of lower Manhattan against flooding, I think you have the right idea.

I'm glad you got the box! I asked UPS to send me a confirmation e-mail when it arrived, but of course they didn't yet... I'm also glad you didn't have 'Love', I wasn't sure...

Nothing to add except hope that this storm is manageable.

Meanwhile, if you want some reading, here's a preview of the children's book Colin Meloy and his partner Carson Ellis have written and illustrated. I know you're probably more experienced with the web than I am, but I'll still say, probobly don't read the comments.
