1. I'm glad you liked Kin, Kith and Kind.

2. Did you see the photos from the forthcoming film about Poe?

They do rock.

2. Did you see the photos from the forthcoming film about Poe?

Kathryn and I saw them just a few minutes ago, yes. Very nice.

My husband and I watched a movie the other night, completely on a whim, called Suck. I thought it would be really stupid and cheesy, and it was, but it was those things intentionally. Lots of awesome star cameos, totally campy fun. I highly recommend it.

Spooky and I saw Suck back on the last night of December. I especially appreciated Moby as Beef.

I'm still wondering how they got so many big names to do these bit parts. And yes, Moby as Beef was spectacular.

How can you say no to a vampire movie called Suck?

I don't think I've ever seen a Nicholas Cage performance that I enjoyed. He always seems wooden, contrived, self congratulatory and without depth. Admittedly I haven't seen Leaving Las Vegas, but most everything else was awful. Is there any substantive difference between his roles in Gone in Sixty Seconds, The Rock, National Treasure, Con Air, Ghost Rider, etc? He's like Keanu Reeve's older brother, always using the same tone of voice, always striving for laid back cool, always speaking at the same rhythm and pace, always Nicholas Cage staring at you from out of the screen, and never his character.

OK, I did like Lord of War. And Face/Off was fun. But otherwise? Blech.

These all rank among the..well...rank Nicolas Cage movies.

He's brilliant in the good ones, such as Raising Arizona, Vampire's Kiss, Moonstruck, and Matchstick Men. He's actually an excellent actor.

I haven't seen any of those. I thought they were all similar to the one's I listed, and thus couldn't be bothered to watch them. I'll give them a go, and see what I think of him after. Thanks!

At the very least, you must see the wonder that is Raising Arizona, one of the best films from the Coen Bros.

Hope you are looking the other way very soon.

It's a curious thing to desire.

Which of those two categories do you put the remake of The Wicker Man in? I didn't watch it myself.

Unrelated to Cage: The Black Swan is opening over here tomorrow. You had so much praise for that film that I've *got* to go and see it now. I suspect I'll love it.

The absolute worst of the worst. Lousy film.
