And here is the first day of spring, the Vernal Equinox. Spooky and I will be observing Ostara on March 22nd, partly because at least one Wiccan website places it on the 22nd this year, and partly out of convenience. Regardless, today is the beginning of Spring. Fuck you, winter. The sun's out, it's warm, and the office window's open ( Read more... )

idiot humans, ostara, sirenia, awards, dancy, shahrazad, gaming, squamates, spooky's dolls, paleo, lovecraft, spring, the red tree

It's sort of shaping up to be a very peculiar "sequel" to Lovecraft's "The Hound" (1922).

Yay! "The Hound" is one of my favorites.

'I saw a bumper sticker that read, "Annoy a Liberal: Work Hard and Be Happy."'

I saw a car with two bumper stickers:

I have to grip the wheel hard to avoid flipping off those drivers, because it sure seems their bumper stickers are flipping -me- (and my friends) off.

I've flipped of lots of those drivers. And the pro-lifers with their gory fucking signs picketing outside Planned Parenthood. Not very mature of me, but very satisfying.

SB is too damn small for me to flip off bumper-stickered idiots. There's only 2 degrees of separation. I do, however, give them a stern look. Frustrating to no end.

I remember the last census form having more stuff as well. My guess is that a lot of the demographic data that used to be on the census form is being tracked through other means (the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Bureau of Economic Analysis, for examples).

Also, congrats on 80. I don't think that the game necessarily "begins at 80," but it's true that the endgame has at least as much stuff to do as the leveling game, and there's also the fact that if you level up to 80 relatively quickly, you can go back and complete a bunch of content you may have skipped before on your own.

That may be true, though something about the brevity of the form struck me as desperation.

We intend to do this, Spooky and I (she made 80 one night before me), especially the dungeons, which interest me more than the endgame.

Re: the census, I have the vague impression that there is a long form and a short form, and only a certain % of people get the long form.
