"As if I had a choice...oh well."

1. Something strange this morning. Someone going by "Blue Tyson" has posted a one-star review of The Red Tree to Amazon.com. Thing is, it's not actually a review of the book. Instead, the "review," titled "Blacklisted - Georestricted," reads: This book is georestricted and hence will not be bought. Unfortunately it is probably good, too. Now, I ( Read more... )

Yeah...thanks everyone. This was as much sense as I could make of it. I see the identical one-star "reviews" he gave Neil Gaiman and Neal Stephenson are already gone. I don't know what this person was thinking. His complaint is with Amazon.com, and maybe my publisher, but you do not express your displeasure by attacking in such a way as to harm the author, as though we have some say in the matter. It's comes across petulant and childish.

I got hit by the same crumb this morning, a copy/paste job for sure--and here I though I was special:/ What's really weird is my publisher distributed the book in Australia, so yeah, it must have something to do with Kindle whatsits--like region coding on dvds.

Glad to hear Jennifer's Body is worth a look...I've been rather meh about Cody to date as well.

So point out where an Australian can buy the book then.

It is completely on your publisher, this - and you, given you signed the contract.

When you fail to find one, ask your publisher why.

Nothing to do with Amazon. Completely on your publisher (and you for signing contracts with division of rights).

Also note that earlier last year this publishing arseclownery did not exist.
