I will mark the anniversary of the horrific, murderous Hamas-led attack on Israel with this link, via the ADL. It speaks volumes.

It's terrible the lengths both sides are going to. Unfortunately, there's also been a rise in anti-muslim rhetoric. The worst thing so far has been the Republicans and Aipac's (American Israel Public Affairs Committee,)threat (if Trump wins the election,) to take away students' 1st amendment rights by revoking accreditation to universities that allow Pro-Palestinian protests on campus.

Have you read Masha Gessen's piece on Germany and Israel in the New Yorker or about the pushback they (a Jewish writer) recieved in Germany because of it?

For all the Western press's general support for Israel, I'm finding their coverage pretty worthless in contrast to the journalism coming out of Israel itself which swings wildly from to so extreme that must not be acknowledged and blisteringly critical in ways that cannot be voiced. The Israeli press isn't perfect, but it is more honest than the knee jerk censorious support and/or wishy washy centrism of every major Western outlet.

No, I haven't. I'll have to look it up.

I think Wilkerson's Caste does the best job of explaining how the Jews could be treated the way they were in Germany, and then turn around and do something similar to the Palestinians. It doesn't really appear to have anything to do with religion or "race," but the need to create a border between the haves and the have nots. Or those you wish to have nothing. Given that, it's hard to see any sort of solution.
