Another very hot day. Our high was 100˚F, with the heat index at 110˚F.

Did you know the winter that Franklin's expedition got frozen in the ice was the same winter the Donner Party got stuck in the Sierra? There's all kinds of anecdotal evidence that it was a particularly cold winter all over the northern hemisphere, but no real scientific explanation. It's always interested me.
