Rainy day, and it's only 52˚F. But at least all that fucking snow is gone. As long as we don't get walloped again this weekend, we might be free and clear

Freedom of speech and thoughtext_1285666April 7 2016, 17:26:07 UTC
You've expressed freedom of speech and show that you think. What's wrong with that. I think I'll keep your books. Until I give them to my daughter. After all, I don't want books burnt with me. I can be Fahrenheit 51 but my books will live on.
I did not back Walter Mondale in 1984 and Michael Dukakis in 1988, Bill Clinton in 1992 (and 1996) and Al Gore in 2000, John Kerry in 2004 and Barack Obama in 2008 (and 2012) because I vote the lesser of two evils. I supported those candidates because I believe in the Democratic Party and the principles and values it represents and recognize and cherish the advances it has fostered.
Well said!!!! When it comes to politics, I am a liberal, but I am also a REALIST. Should Sanders somehow get the Democratic nomination(he can't), we would be rolling out the red carpet for a President Trump or a President Cruz, both of which are nightmarish scenarios. Hillary Clinton is a pragmatic progressive who has both legislative experience(almost 7 years in the U.S. Senate) and executive experience(4 years as Secretary of State). She understands the complexities of the world and the difficulties of working in Congress. If you think Barack Obama is a good President (I do), then the best and most qualified person to carry on his good works, is Hillary Rodham Clinton.
I agree with you completely and have done my best to convince my ultra-left wing friends that their lofty ideals will not appeal to the masses; we need a liberal candidate who can win the election.
Your books will remain firmly planted in their places on my book shelves.
You have stated your position in a reasonable manner and to my mind, anyone who feels threatened by that doesn't truly understand what it means to be an American.
There is something decidedly surreal about this election year, your analogy of the cuckoo makes perfect sense to me. I had a stranger ask me if I was voting for Sanders and I said, "That's between me and my ballot, thanks."
