I awoke late, and so this will be a short entry, not the entry I'd hoped to write. It's cold and cloudy today, currently only 48˚F. In Birmingham, it's 79˚F.

Yesterday, Bill Schafer informed me that Beneath an Oil-Dark Sea: The Best of Caitlín R. Kiernan (Volume 2) has revived a starred review in Publisher's Weekly:

As to the twenty-five year old, I hope you stung him. I'd like to see a statue with Lovecraft on one side and you on the reverse. If there must be tentacles, let them bind you both together. Epic and intelligent review. Congratulations on getting the respect you deserve.

Congratulations on the review. Thank you, also, for Sirenia Digest 117.

Her best stories are also some of the best fantastic fiction of the past decade.

Congratulations! I do not disagree.

Ha you fooled me. I wasn't checking your blog because you said you weren't going to blog until the end of the month. Was listening to the radio the other night (insomnia), and they had this horror author on, and he was talking about how he was rebelling against the Lovecraft standard. Which was strange because some of his favorite authors (Specifically You), were quite fond of him. I was talking about Winston Churchill once, and this person said, "I don't know who that was, because that happened before he was born." Calling an adult a child is what lawyers do to get lowlifes out of prisons. Hang em high, I say.
