If I believe Accuweather, it's 72˚F out there. There's not a single leaf on a single deciduous tree ( Read more... )

I'm thrilled to hear that another Dancy story is in the pipes. Thank you, Aunt Beast!

There's not a single leaf on a single deciduous tree.

Providence, what the hell. There are flowering trees here and misty new green. It's not everywhere, but it's enough.

I don't yet know if this will be a good story, but it is at least an actual Dancy story. That's a start.

It remains a splendid title and I'm really glad you're writing.

Honestly, things are not good. To quote Mal Reynolds (ever quotable), "We're close to gone out here."

I understand that.

"We're close to gone out here."

You have no idea how much I sympathize/empathize/identify with this statement.

Nothing to say that doesn't sound trite, but I desperately hope you situation and mine both improve by many orders of magnitude.

Another Dancy story is always something to be happy about.

I've revised my thinking about the Dancy stories, both prose and comic. These days, I tend to think of the stories about her as connected but not serial. The closest analogy I can come up with is of someone in one of those dance clubs with multiple strobe lights going - you see the person in static, brilliantly-lit images, each a frozen instantaneous snapshot of someone you know full well is moving, possibly quite rapidly, with each one casting a completely different shadow in a completely different direction, flickering around the core. That's how I see Dancy in your stories these days, especially when I wonder if we're reading about the core or the shadow.

I hope things get better for you and Spooky soon...
