I have five works on the 2013 Locus Recommended Reading List, in four categories: Blood Oranges (novel), Black Helicopters (novella), The Ape's Wife and Other Stories (collection), and "The Road of Needles" and "The Prayer of Ninety Cats" (short story).

I especially like the use of "manifestation," as if lesbianism were some kind of horrid Edwardian apparition.
