"Flint at the fetlock, chasing the bone."

I pronounce today, this second day of December 2013, to be the official beginning of this year's Jethro Tull Season. The sky is just about the right shade of blue grey. Or grey blue. Jethro Tull Season celebrates, among other things, a slower, saner winter, one that is now decades gone ( Read more... )

Some time ago, in a recent introduction to The Glass Teat, Harlan Ellison warned us about Social Media. As usual Mr Ellison has once again proved to be prophetic.

It is one of his many superpowers. A shame such warnings fall on deaf ears.

It's nice to know you're not fragile as a teacup.

I wouldn't have lived this long.

Hear, hear!!!
(Call me an ageist as well, but there is that saying: Too Old To Rock 'N' Roll, Too Young To Die.)

...some ass clown's gonna get their panties in a twist.

I think that one of the major flaws of this day and age is perspicacity, or rather an extreme lack thereof in general across the proverbial board. Everyone is so caught up in just their own perspective that it is practically unfathomable for people to comprehend that someone having a different perspective on something doesn't automatically make one right (theirs) and one verboten (everyone else's)...like say depending on your perspective, having one's panties in a twist might be a good thing?

I hear you on the decline. I'd settle for 40 healthwise.

But hey - shiny new Docs, meat, and Dexter. I'd count that as a good day.

"Locomotive Breath" is never out of place.

It seems that many of the people who are outraged about an honest discussion of aging are either (a) young and don't know what the hell they're on about or (b) trying with both hands to deny the fact that they themselves are aging. Time fixes that problem for one set...and ultimately for the other set as well, I suppose.

Congratulations on your new Docs.
