I cannot simply say 4,380, because leap years complicate things a bit.

Today is the twelfth anniversary of my blog. It began on Blogger on this date in 2001. You can read the first entry here. It begins:

Today is the twelfth anniversary of my blog.

Happy anniversary.

Oh, and I love you Clara Oswin Oswald. A shame it took so long for the creators to find an actress with whom Matt Smith had chemistry.

That Christmas special was such a wonderful breath of fresh air. And I love her, too, though half the time I'm just thinking how great her nose is.

During the Ponds' run, I wanted to bang my head against the wall.

I think I might have.

Amy was the best companion because she was "hot."

Um. Okay.

a couple of male friends said Amy was the best companion because she was "hot."

Heh, if that was all a companion needed, Peri would be legendary.

First, happy anniversary. Twelve years in blogging is like a hundred in non-blogging years. Survival becomes you.

I agree that Clara's a better companion than the Ponds, or most of the rest. But it really seemed like at first the writers didn't know how to handle her. The last few episodes finally gave us a Clara who could stand toe to toe with the Doctor. In The Day of The Doctor Clara is an integral part of the story, not just there as someone for the Doctor to show off to. Jenna Coleman has developed a chemistry with Matt Smith, and her scene with John Hurt in the vault showed that she keep up with the best. That Smith is leaving after one more episode is a bit disappointing, but hopefully she'll find the chemistry with Peter Capaldi quickly.

So, happy anniversary.

Happy twelfth anniversary. One for every Doctor, with John Hurt to grow on?

(I have still not seen "The Day of the Doctor." It is on derspatchel's computer. Tonight.)
