Cold/ich sucks. I've had it for over a week, and now have laryngitis - I sound like Tom Waits crossed with a fucking chipmunk when I can talk at all. Here's to getting over this shit.
I’m enjoying the way that Guild Wars 2 has set up its mechanics so there is never, ever a penalty for helping someone else out. It does lead to the “zerg” phenomenon, but most of the time I just laugh as they go by.
My opinion of Flight is that it's an episode of Matlock or Perry Mason from the perspective of the "evil", "conniving" villain. Denzel Washington, almost single-handedly, completely sells what would otherwise be a mediocre, banal redemption/legal drama.
I saw it in theatres, felt entertained, but I'd probably never go back to watch it again.
I tried to like Beowulf, really I did, but I keep turning it off after about ten minutes. I think I've seen Grendel in his initial attack on Heorot, and that made me dislike it even more. There are so many artists who do brilliant creature design in film and they ended up with THAT. Even the creature at the end of Alien Resurrection was better, and that's saying something.
And, thank you Universe, someone else who dislike Forrest Gump. I thought I was the only one.
I've gotten the email that my copies of "Apes Wife" are on their way. I didn't think I could me more excited, but after reading the Locus review I actually am.
