A friend reminded me recently about how I used to say that when I'm old I hope I have crow's feet and laugh lines. To me, it just means that I've lived a happy life b/c those are the wrinkles made from smiles and laughter.
*Off to find a scarf for winter-can you believe I've never really worn one?* Such an inspiration you are :)

as much as i am tired of winter by late march, i always truly look forward to it by the time it comes around again. i feel that when you live somewhere with four solid seasons, they shape you as a person. i think i'd feel a bit adrift if i lived in a place where the winds didn't begin to pick up, just a little, at this time of year.

i love this. i, too, love days cool enough for a sweater or scarf. autumn is slowly descending on illinois - i went out yesterday in longsleeves and a yellow scarf that swung to the ground. it's so exciting. the air feels so fresh and new.

I found myself searching the trees for leaves changing. I adore fall, I always have.
I loved how different fall was in Chicago vs. New Orleans.
Being in Georgia now is wonderful. It paints a scene of beauty as the leaves change. It also the season I met my husband. I anticipate Halloween, my 2 year wedding anniversary and 5 years together.
It marks the turn of the year for me each time.
I love curling up on the sofa in pjs and by the fire.
How he has to keep logs outside the back door so he doesn't have to run into the barn at night.
It just brings memories to life again.
I think you wrote it beautifully:
one of my favorite things in life is to curl up on the bed or on the couch with a hotHOT cup of chai, wearing a sweater that FEELS perfect no matter what it looks like. my cheeks tend to get really hot and really red in the winter, and i like it because it makes me feel Small. it makes me feel innocent. when i smile now and look close i see wrinkles forming around my eyes and i LOVE it. i appreciate those wrinkles, i appreciate ( ... )
