I didn't do a friends cut, I just did a mass edit to make all my entries friends-locked. You should still be able to view everything, let me know if you can't!

I did a mass-locking about a year ago, and I think it's worked out quite well for me. I'm no longer paranoid that my students are going to stumble onto me ranting about vaginas or talking about how many mouthgasms a restaurant induced.

Also, I curse a lot.

I went back and did the mass locking of entries last fall. Most of my old entries are now private, because it was much easier than manually editing all of the entries with the 5 million filters I use.

If you delete a filter, everything on that filter will go to private, which is what I did. I also made everything public into friends-only, and everything friends-only that was more than a year old is now filtered for just those people.

I think they're worried that I'm removing people from my friends list, which I'm not. I just changed all of my entries that were previously public to friends-locked, so only people on my friends list can read them. No big deal, as long as you're signed in on LJ when you look at my journal, you should still be able to read everything!
