Valuable life lesson: When the 30 year-old stepladder you're standing on decides to prove why you shouldn't be standing on a 30 year-old stepladder, grab the beam the garage door opener is hanging on, not the garage door opener itself.

Which, I guess, is two valuable life lessons if you count "Don't use a 30 year-old stepladder."

Oh my - I'm assuming that since you're able to impart valuable life lessons, you're all of the right, and not of the bent and broken. And who was it who said "Never trust any[thing] over 30."?

Cuts and bruises, wounded ego. The ladder is totalled though.

And I think that was Abbie Hoffman, who probably has a different take on the subject about now. ;)
