inbetweeen tonight and my tomorrows

I live in the land of busy. Big work projects to do (like 130 page books) and lots of friends stopping by and parties to go to and D&D-like board games to play just about every other night for the past two weeks. Life is good.

Also, I am now the pround owner of these super great sneakers. Green! And orange! what's not to like ( Read more... )

Ok, what's "sad bastard music"?

It's a quote from High Fidelity "old sad bastard music" and if I'm remembering correctly the music in question was either Belle and Sebastian or The Beta Band. I mostly think of it as music that's generally mellow and would go well with either of those bands.

28 Days Later. British zombie movie staring Cillian Murphy (see icon). Best. Zombie movie. Ever. Also, best apocalypse movie and just plain one of my top favourite movies. The basic premise: scientists in a misgueded attempt to make people less angry, create a virus that infects people with homiciadal rage. Chaos and the end of the world ensues.

Igby Goes Down. Another of my top favourite movies. Starring Kieran Culkin as a wonderfully snarky and obnoxious sixteeen year old poor little rich kid. I am such a sucker of fictional obnoxious teenage boys.

Repo Man. A cult cassic. and without a doubt Emilio Estevez's best movie. About a white suburban punk in La who becomes a repo man (repossesing cars). Endlessly quoteable with such gems as "Ordinary fucking people. I hate 'em." and "Let's go get sushi and not pay". Also, there are aliens.

the QV aka The Quidditch verse. An abosolutely amazing Blaise/Draco post Hogwarts fic and art collaboration between longsunday and olukemi in which Draco is a professional Quidditch player, Blaise is a hired gun for ( ... )

I’m a newly converted b/d lover and shipper. And you were one of the first authors that I read and I loved your blaise and how he could so easily make draco lose control (though I’m sure everyone’s usually off balance around him because they don’t really know what to expect from him). The idea of these two being together never crossed my mind, but after read all your b/d fics (yes, I spent the whole night (and morning) hunting for blaise/draco fics (I must have read just about everything from fleshdress, from blaise100, coil. And now I don’t know what to read ::wails:: or whose journal I should be rummaging through for my b/d fix) I can’t say it was hard to like this ship and to want to read more about it. and after reading so many versions of blaise and seeing that he somehow comes across the “same” but with different . But I am a bit saddened by the fact that you haven’t written b/d in a while (I want to read more of prague, it’s killing my brain how I have a distinct feeling of not knowing what’s going on and yet knowing XD (yes, I ( ... )

I'm totally flattered that you like my fic (and that you read all of it).

As for more fic, sadly B/D fandom seems to be very slow atm (at least the part that has a Blaise that acts the way I think of him anyway). But if you haven't trawled through longsunday's journal yet I suggest you do. The master list of her fic is here and most of here HP stuff is B/D. Shadow and Soul, Monochrome and Ecdysis are some of my favourites, but everything she writes is AMAZING.

I do plan (as much as I ever plan anything which is not very much) to finish Prague someday ('cause I want to know what happens too) and I have a post HBP post apocalyptic B/D fic I've been poking at for a while now, but, I've just been distracted and suffering from very annoying writer's block. It will appear someday. I've no idea when tough. And our comment here remids me that I should revisit the boys (and that I miss them, it's been a while).
