LOVE the opening. HATE the pic. Hee.

And, well. In 2009, HBO probably had a point. He *wasn't* well known in America, at least. Who could've predicted the insanity that Sherlock wrought?

Oh - also. Forgot to mention that the casual clothing in the opening has me all atwitter, too. It's so very un-Sherlock. *g*

Exactly - it's amusing the difference a couple of years can make.

Moffat predicted exactly what Sherlock would do for Benedict. In an interview The Moff said he told Ben to be sure he was ready for it before he signed on. He also said something about knowing it would make Benedict a sex symbol despite being an 'unusual looking man' (paraphrased). Love it.

Thanks so much for posting this. I am beyond excited that the games are in London, and this was a lovely tribute to a city I still think of as one of my homes. Benedict is fabulous, too!

You're welcome. :) I love that Benedict was chose to do the open. He completely adores London and I think it comes through in his delivery.

Yes, it was. The more I hear about what has been cut the more frustrated I am. I'm still looking for a dl of the BBC coverage.

Poor puppy. He really does look like he's had cotton balls stuffed in his mouth, doesn't he?

Ooh, I have yet to see that segment of the opening. Thanks for linking!

You're welcome!

Yes, someone mentioned a hamster with stuffed cheeks and now that's all I can think of! I can't tell if he just looks puffy because those cheekbones are missing, or he'd look puffy anyway.
