Got graphic novel vol. 23 of the Rurouni Kenshin series; as great as usual, although better than the first since more interesting stuff occurs, as in Saito officially rejoins the fray after the Kyoto arc and dukes it out with Enishi's Venom-like minion, the Kenshin vs. Enishi battle royale finally begins, and that was actually the real meat of the ( Read more... )

Cool, have you ever written any RK fic? (LOVE your icon, the message's very ironic, adored that shot of Kenshin there, and liked how strong the red theme is.... Wait, did you make it yourself?)

no, I don't feel I know the series well enough to write it, but I've read a great deal of it. It was also the first fandom I used to collect fanart for, though I don't have those pictures anymore.

(No, but I know the person who made it, she made a good chunk of my icons though)

Oooo, one of my friends is a RK fan! She would loooove you, but unfortunately she doesn't have LJ yet. He he, I guess I'll have to persuade her to get it!

That sounds like one heck of a storyline and some awesome characters, too! I tried to get into RK, but found that FMA was plenty of info for me to digest. But from what I saw, I really liked it. The characters are all unique in their own way, so it's something I'll definately have to pursue once I have fully mastered FMA.

DVD 8... 'tis coming! ^_^ *counts on fingers* I believe the episodes I want will be on DVD 11. *crosses the counting fingers* Owww...!

Oh, hope you get her here; would love to talk RK with her.

Yes, you should definitely get into RK, although I suggest going with the original manga graphic novel series before the tv show anime. Personally, I love that version better. Also, it is the original, and technically, after the Kyoto arc in the anime, the show goes completely off-track, a way stronger difference between anime FMA and manga FMA, since with RK, the same excellent level of quality was not retained--the anime grew worse once the Kyoto arc wrapped up. (But as always, I do find it's nice to hear actual voice when applied to the characters, and I just LOVE Shishio's dubbed english voice....)

But, you know, choose whichever version that works the best for you. (Would love to talk RK with you as well....)
