Normally I don't like story pieces that re-use the same words to describe colors, but you made it work here somehow. (HOW DO YOU DO THAT KIND OF THING??) and instead of detracting from the story I think it added an emphasis on all the sameness of it all.
also this was beautiful and sad and heartbreaking and I wants to glomp you for it ;.;
