Challenge 011 -- PLOT BUNNIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nov 11, 2011 17:18

Because this is a busy month for everyone (OK… every month is a busy one, I suppose… but this one feels busy to me at the moment. :-) ) I thought we’d do something different.  I’m hoping this will not only be a fun way to get juices flowing, but will also encourage more readers/lurkers to participate!

So, here it is:

Submit a PLOT BUNNY!  It can be ( Read more... )

It would be cool if some of the bunnies could be non-fandom specific, so the winning bunny could be written in more than one fandom.

(e.g. "Someone finds out that something they always thought was true is not.")

I thought about that... and it could be cool... But I'm looking for more specific plots than that.

I concur. Like for instance, if there was a Rings prompt with Sam and Frodo, you could instead substitute Sherlock and Watson (assuming the prompt was vague enough, or could be applied to Sherlock fandom). That would be amazing.

I think I'll wait until we see what prompts we get/which prompts win/etc. Because you're right -- there should be a way to make December multi-fandom.

In fact, I could just make the December challenge to write a story on one of the prompts form november whether they won or not...

Is this where I submit a plot bunny as a comment?
Or am I supposed to make a post?

I'm a little confused. (Sorry.) Any chance you could maybe write a sample plot bunny, just to give us an example of the kind of thing you're looking for? At this point I'm just not sure exactly how specific or non-specific to make them. Thanks!

Honestly, as specific or non-specific as you want is fine. (The reason I don't want to say the winner has to be non-fandom-specific, is because I want fandom-specific prompts to be allowed.)

A few hastily composed examples:

1. A character in the fandom adopts/gives birth to/etc. his/her first child.

2. A character in the fandom adopts/gives birth to/etc. his/her first child. Give me a vignette of the first time parent and child meet.

3. Amy Clennam gives birth to the Clennams' first daughter.

4. Amy Clennam gives birth to the Clennams' first daughter. What is Arthur's reaction upon first meeting her?

Does that help?

Yes, very much! Thank you! I'll try to get the old brain up and running and see what I can come up with . . .

Can we post plot bunnies we have already prompted somewhere else? (As I have put LOTS of thought into my prompts for gift fic exchanges...) Or should they be specially created for this challenge?

Hmm...

I'll say "yes" under two conditions:

1. They are not for a current gift exchange (e.g. sherlockmas and holmestice for this winter)

and

2. They were not fulfilled in the previous gift exchanges.

Okay, thanks for clarifying. :-)

Thinking it over again, I'll probably invent new prompts anyway - it is always fun to think of something new. :-)
