Saw Speed Racer yesterday and all I have to say is that critics who trashed the movie are just soulless fuddy-duddy movie snobs, who have long forgotten how to have fun, cause this movie is freaking awesome

Glad to hear it. I was surprised by the reviews - I mean come on, this is a Speed Racer movie - what are you expecting.

As long as it has the critical elements (see below), I think I'll like it:
1) The sound when the Mach 5 jumps.
2) Spritle and Chim-Chim hiding in Speed's trunk.
3) Racer X.

2) Yes.

They have all the key elements, it VERY obvious that films makers were fans of the show, like I said they capture the feel to a T.

Yeah they even have Spridle and Chim-Chim going ape over candy, sneaking around to steal said and candy, eating way too much of it and having other crazy antics.
They have viking racers who are bribed by pelts and have all sorts of crazy ancient like weapons on their cars.
