Outsmarted by a damn squirrel

So to make our new backyard more complete, we bought a metal garden stake (about 4 1/2 feet high) on which to hang our bird feeder.   Problem is, a couple of squirrels have taken it over.  I didn't think they could run up the rather thin metal stake, but I've seen them hanging off the top as evidence.  I don't have anything against squirrels, but ( Read more... )

I immediately thought of this video. There's very little you can do to thwart squirrels, other than hiring the largest blue jays in the neighborhood to gang up on them.

The blue jays in my neighborhood are totally pansies. They fly away when any squirrels get up in their grills.

Ah, but see the blue jays work in cahoots with the squirrels. When the rodents are feeling lazy, the blue jays come and scoop the bird seed out of the feeder and onto the ground. Then the squirrels just east away. It's all a conspiracy, I tell ya!
