I haven't used Skype yet but it is installed on my computer.  One of the things it does is to tag any phone number it comes across on the internet so you can just click and call.  I was amused to see it catch one of the songs on my last.fm account:

A sad day for Pink Floyd fans, as group co-founder and keyboardist Rick Wright has died from cancer at 65.  While Gilmour and Waters took the spotlight, Wright was an essential part of their sound.  Talent-wise he was outdone only by Gilmour.  For those who wish to get a sampling of how great Rick Wright was, listen to all of "Shine On You Crazy ( Read more... )

So to make our new backyard more complete, we bought a metal garden stake (about 4 1/2 feet high) on which to hang our bird feeder.   Problem is, a couple of squirrels have taken it over.  I didn't think they could run up the rather thin metal stake, but I've seen them hanging off the top as evidence.  I don't have anything against squirrels, but ( Read more... )

• Saw Stone Temple Pilots at PNC with a coworker.  Excellent show despite Weiland being wasted out of his gourd.  Full review up on the Big Blog.
• Played golf with the wife and our hairdresser and her husband.  Considering it was my first time picking up a club for anything other than mini golf, I did OK (It was a pitch n putt course).  Got a birdie on ( Read more... )

The show: Awesome.  All 3 are great performers and seem to love playing. 
The venue (Chris' Jazz Cafe in Philly):  Very nice atmosphere, excellent food.  Got a good wine to look for later.
The verdict:  A great night out.

In no particular order:

• We purchased a new washer/dryer set.  The best thing about them is they stack, thereby saving precious room in our rather cramped laundry area.  Also, they are front-loaders, which is way cool.  Saves a ton of water/energy and is overall better for the clothes.

Here's a clip of Van Halen's classic, "Runnin' with the Devil," with David Lee Roth's vocal track isolated.  It's been synced with a promo video for the song.  When you take out the instrumentation it really is very odd, but fascinating nonetheless.
