we don't have a tree this year either (last year we did, if you recall.) sean and i have both decided that we should invest in a large house plant/tree (we have a corner that needs prettiness) and we want to put lights and our few favorite ornaments on that. and then we have a tree after the holidays. he really wants one that smells good (like eucalyptus (sp?)) but i'm not sure how large they are or how expensive they are. we shall see.

One way to package cash is to tie the bills to the strings of helium balloons and put them in a large box. When the box is opened, cash floats out!

Just make sure it's not opened out of doors unless a BB gun is on hand, in which case it becomes a rewarding game of skill.

No tree is fine.
personally I find wreaths much more manageable and very festive.
And lest we lose perspective: I'm pretty sure that the primary and prevailing argument for not having a tree inside is because it takes away a comfortable place to sit which is worth ever so much more than any indoor decoration. It is not just because they don't like "your" tree.
Maybe you could put the tree up on the porch!

I'm excited about road tripping to Jubilee tomorrow. Can't wait to see you. <3 Casey

the other primary (and more immediate and important, i think) is that the tree can be dangerous for a small bobbin, like hazel.

yup, the hassle factor, the safety factor and the space factor. I'm consoling myself with some flowers. ;-)

you bet! I'll have a real Christmas tree EVERY year when I move out... ;)
I vote that we get some clippin's from cedar trees and put them on the beam, and also have these red lights I found on the beam, too... it should look pretty cool. I thank Joe for some help with the general idea... though he doesn't want to help me put it up =(
