Authors Notes: Oof, it's been a while - so this is a bit rough. But what a great prompt, it still might kick up some more bunnies...give me a few days...
Snape had only ever written one love letter in his life. It had started “to Lily” and ended with the pouring of his dreams, hopes, and wishes for the future. But when he had to sign it his hand stayed with fear, hopelessness and crippling doubt. So the letter ended with “from James”, and it made someone very happy.
He doesn’t consider what he’s writing now a love letter, but a mature profession of his feelings. It begins “Hermione”, and details his thoughts, musings and a very important question. And this time he can end it, simply, with “yours, Severus”.
