[voice]

I've heard rumors that some people are getting together and forming a police force. I'd like to speak with whoever's involved and offer what help I can.

What other kinds of social services are offered here? Are there any that people would like to see organized? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I spoke with a man called John Mandrake wants to make this government. -=He doesn't quite trust him and it shows in his voice.=-

I've spoken with him as well. What do you think of him?

I do not know him well.

-=A small pause as he breathes.=-

He is new here. And very eager to become a guard for the people of Adstringendum. And to seek people worthy of being guards.

-=Hence his wariness about this man.=-

[And have a Riza setting a mug of coffee of the coffee table in front of you, Roy, before she sits on the couch next to you.]

You look like you need some.

Happy birthday.

[He doesn't know whether she wants this particularly known, so he figures it's safer to put up a filter.]

[The message is a surprise and from someone she doesn't know which...is very confusing and a little worrisome. She doesn't like personal facts known like this.]

Thank you.

[Roy pauses the audio and takes off the device.]

What would I do without you, Lieutenant?

[That isn't quite as jovial as it was supposed to be. After all, he had spent quite a few days without her and the answer was not very well.

He takes a sip of the coffee and forces his spirits up.]

I haven't wished you a happy birthday! I hope you haven't reached the age where birthdays are a thing of dread.

Has your sight been restored or do you have another way to peruse text documents?

[OUCH.] No, it has not. [But it could be, if he just used the stone...]

The PCD, I've fond, is able to read text documents aloud. Not well, but intelligibly.

...I see. I'd like to participate in this 'police force' as well. [There needs to be some kind of action after the events lately.]

In terms of social services, there is a free clinic here that provides healing as well as temporary living and a wealth of information. A library is maintained, and some areas of the city appear to have running water and electricity, I believe instituted by the collective work of residents.

Jean Louis is the man to speak to, it seems.

Only some areas?

I see.

Aah, as far as I know, generators and piping haven't extended across more than several blocks in a single quarter of the City. It's an on-going project to bring more electricity and running water to larger areas, but the events often hinder such progress.
