which way to go?
So it was the last session with Monrovia, two days after the first session with Kathy.

I didn't want Monrovia to feel bad that I was leaving her practice. It wasn't that I was dissatisfied with her as a therapist (I thought I could have been a better patient, in fact), but that it's purely economics. Me paying more per month for ( Read more... )

I think taking control of your own mental health is very appropriate. Your therapist will understand that, no matter how difficult it may be to change. My sister has been seeing the same therapist for over 25 years - she makes the round trip home to see him every few months. I've encouraged her to look for someone closer that she can see more frequently, but she won't because she hates change, has major trust issues, and doesn't want to start over either. Some of the therapists she's seen here have been basic nightmares.

So I understand where you're coming from. Expectations are a bitch. It sounds like you're going into this with with a good attitude.

Sometimes, I think we all could benefit from rebuilding from scratch. Or starting over, even.
