Patch passed away this morning.  He was suffering from a heart murmur, severe arthritis, and dementia, and it was time to say goodbye.  I probably should have euthanized him a few weeks ago, but I wasn't sure whether he might improve, and it's a hard decision to make.  But he went peacefully, while I held him, and is now with his siblings and

I'm so sorry he's gone but you did the right thing for him all the way. It is actually quite apparent even from these photos that he was very sick, but at least he was loved and looked after to the end.

I'm so very sorry. It definitely was the best and kindest decision, but this doesn't make it any less sad. You've looked so well after him, so his last days were happy, and you were with him in his last moments. *hugs*
