Seunghyun/ Jonghun, PG-13, 3109 words.
Jonghun growls as he almost slips at the icy pavement. He glared at his watch as he had only five minutes to meet with Hongki and the line at Hongki's favorite coffee shop seemed endless three seconds after he darted out of the place. He hated his boyfriend's jerk side when it came to mornings, Hongki would be grumpy and very picky.
For the whole weekend, the two planned spending the Christmas together after almost four months when they started collage back in September, each boy in different district. Jonghun went for Music Composing while Hongki choose a collage around 50 miles away for Acting and Theater. Jonghun was convinced their relationship was stronger than anyone expects it to be. Connection from his side was kept strongly through the months. There were times when he almost given up on Hongki as the boy coldly replied to his emails, text messages, or calls. However, that seemed so depressing so Jonghun declared to never think of it again.
Jonghun finally lets out a sigh of relief when the bell on the glass door chimes welcoming him into the place. He settles into a seat inside the other coffee shop Hongki prefers - it's situated closer to his dorms. He pants slightly as he starts peeling off his layers of jacket, scarf and gloves. The coffee shop is cozy and it warms his insides. But only one thing could make Jonghun's day, it was seeing Hongki finally. Though, the boy's impossible ways to treat his five years old boyfriend never ceased Jonghun's passion and endurance. It remained stronger than ever- something that still surprises their other best friend, Jaejin.
He breathed out a warm huff to warm his numbed finger tips as he sipped from his coffee. He apologetically nodded to the waitress, which she smiled understandingly about.
Jonghun's endless anxiety seemed irrational since they've met before countless of times. He could not grasp why this time seemed troubling him inside. He cheered his insides with promises of seeing Hongki, hugging him, kissing him -he hid a blush as he thought of doing even more intimate things with Hongki.
The early sunrays were fading as Jonghun began waiting for his late arising boyfriend. He hated being late to any of their promised gatherings, but waiting for Hongki allowed him so much time -due to the latter boy's lateness - to think and clear his mind.
Jonghun was midway thinking of what to talk about, and what Hongki would talk about. 'It would probably about his new musical or maybe an appearance in that drama he talked about in his latest email' Jonghun thought as a smile unconsciously brightened his face.
He was oblivious -he didn't choose to, he was just busy thinking of his significant other- to the girls sitting two tables away from him. They could not take their eyes off the very handsome collage boy.
Jonghun was never the ugly boy. He was very blessed with his looks. His fingers now worriedly combed through his soft curls. He didn't have to visit any hair salon as his hair was naturally soft. The longish curls twined in his long fingers as his dark chocolate eyes darted to the door as his Hongki entered.
Hongki's presence suddenly made Jonghun's heart jump inside. He wanted to keep calm so he coolly waved at the boy. Hongki had looked busy with something else, and just as Jonghun stood up, another guy entered the café to give Hongki a half hug with a bright smile.
The two looked unnaturally chummy as they approached Jonghun. The boy began calculating unconsciously. They had this crazy aroma all over. Hongki half hugged Jonghun but the boy could not feel Hongki's lounging for him.
"Jonghun, I'd like to introduce Junhyung to you, he is like my best friend." Hongki's eyes were bright with excitement. Somehow, Jonghun knew it wasn't for meeting him, but letting this Junhyung guy introduced into another part of Hongki's life… or it may be, history. Jonghun could not be rude to the stranger; he bowed his head slowly as he shook Junhyung's hand.
"I'm Choi Jonghun, Hongki's -he could not say the word boyfriend as Hongki's eyes became tense- childhood friend, pleased to meet you." He feigned a smile, it worked beautifully as Junhyung smiled as his eyes were hidden behind a gigantic black framed fake glasses. The two wore the seemingly exact type of glasses, and as Jonghun remarks, the same scarves as well…
The conversation seemed more enthusiastic on Hongki's part while Jonghun gave little comments. He hadn't the chance to say more actually, Hongki had been too excited to give Jonghun a chance to state a sentence longer than four or five syllables.
"And that is how I got my role! All thanks to this malicious child here!" Hongki finished his story of how he got his hands over this lucky charm called Yong Junhyung. Jonghun plastered a complementing smile at Junhyung, thanking him for offering so much for Hongki. Junhyung said little as well and just smiled to Hongki's charming ways of explaining -and exaggerating.
The gathering Jonghun had in mind was so much different than this one. Sure it included smiley Hongki with his ever glorious black hair -Jonghun had no idea the boy would cut his longish redhead and dye it black, and his bright ways to make him feel all tingly and happy inside. However, never in his mind did Jonghun thought that the faint blush on Hongki's cheeks would mean more than the chilliness of Seoul city, or the after affect of one of Jonghun's cheesy jokes.
Jonghun's heart became colder by the seconds. The more Hongki talked of Junhyung, and how awesome the guy was. Jonghun found himself asking for more than regular number of coffee cups.
Speaking of coffee, Hongki did not touch the cup Jonghun had beside him on the -strangely - lonely black couch. They used to snuggle together and drink their yummy warm coffee. But as he pays more attention to little details, Junhyung had already taken care of Hongki's beverage.
Time passed slower than Jonghun wanted, which seemed ever so strange. He was meeting Hongki… his Hongki… he unconsciously shook his head, making the fast talker wonder about it, but Jonghun shrugged it off with a soft smile.
This was not his Hongki. His Hongki was different. The person sitting across was not the lover he had all over him four months ago. This is not the Hongki, who begged for countless sex in everywhere they went since they got together.
Jonghun turned stranger, his smiles ceased and his comments likewise. As morning came to an end, the day darkened outside and that's when Jonghun choose to end this painful meeting. He already had in mind to cancel the hotel room he wanted to share with Hongki. The boy already had plans, they didn't appeal to Jonghun since they always included Junhyung, and like hell Jonghun wanted to spend Christmas with a stranger, who is likely to steal away his soul mate.
They parted outside. Hongki didn't even bother hug him or even apologize for bringing the man -who Hongki walked away with- to their special gathering. He simply said, 'it's too bad you can't come with us to the concert, well, there is always next year, right?'
Hongki's smile cooled him instead of doing the magically opposite action. Jonghun just didn't reply. His nerves were so against it. If he let out a word, he might explode. His walk to the subway seemed endless as his heart crunched over.
'I think I got dumped' his mind kept repeating. Hongki seemed so perfectly fine without expressing his affection to Jonghun. The brunette seemed to get sadder by the second. The darkness engulfed him early at five pm. He finally broke down.
Accidently, Jonghun brushed not so lightly by a younger boy, dropping the boy's guitar case in the process.
"Watch where you are going for god's sake!" the boy started but his tone calmed down once he saw the spilled tears on Jonghun's face.
"Sir, I apologize! It's my fault" He starts to try to make up for making the man cry, but all Jonghun could hear and feel was hurt. He was so hurt. Hongki ripped his heart apart today, as much as the boy is oblivious about it, but Hongki broke his heart too many times for Jonghun to forgive.
He brushed the apologizing man. He just picks up his legs and sits down on a bench. His crunched face now tear stained as his emotions overflew his insides with all of the hurt he got from the one only he loved so dearly.
The young man stood there, not knowing what to do. Jonghun's conscious wanted a break so he yelled at the man, "would you please mind?! I am going through my first heart break!" Jonghun saw the man jump slightly from the side of his eyes.
He had never snapped on anyone except for his dry pranks on Hongki or his brotherly scolding towards his baby brother Minhwan. He felt apologetic but he got fed up with apologizing and being the nicer guy. Jonghun knew he advanced to another phase as quickly as rage glowered in his eyes instead of tears.
Jonghun had no idea when and how he denied that obvious hiatus between them. Was it when Hongki dryly talked of sex on the phone? Was it when he managed to make him feel like a huge pervert for wanting to kiss him on the open when they met only a week after collage life started? Jonghun had must denied it! He can't be abnormal even when it came to break ups.
When it came to resentment, Jonghun realized it's fuming inside. He is not sure who he hated, was it Hongki for never making it evident? Was it him that he hated for clinging to the man?
Jonghun was lost in a maze that he didn't realize that the man he stumbled across sat next to him. He turned his head when he heard the infamous Christmas song play acoustically. He tried to wipe away all signs of tears from his face, but his expression just saddened.
It was Christmas and he was alone in the streets of a city he isn't familiar with. Realization drowns his anger into a pool of sadness. He suddenly wanted to go back home and snuggle to his couch and spend his night watching endless Christmas special shows on TV.
The boy kept on playing and Jonghun felt his spirits rising a bit for the cherry song. He turns to his left to see the boy softly humming while gazing at his instrument.
"I'm sorry for yelling, Mr." the boy's eyes apologetically shifted under Jonghun's observation. "It's Christmas so please cheer up!" Jonghun could not help but break a smile at that.
Seunghyun had been perfectly taking care of his guitar when he looked up and saw the stranger smile at him. He subconsciously competed with a brighter smile of his own.
Jonghun can't recalls what made him begin a conversation with Seunghyun or when he knew that Seunghyun was called Seunghyun, he just wanted a substitute and the boy offered so much. He was not the one to object. Their bodies warmed up to the heat of Seunghyun's underground apartment. The place was more like a music studio than a real apartment. He was sure of it, but when Jonghun got his body sandwiched between the kitchen's counter and Seunghyun, he felt his heart beat a lot faster than its normal rate. The boy noticed nothing of Jonghun's over flushed skin and began unbuttoning his shirt.
He felt a bang in his heart; Hongki loved seeing white shirts on him. He glanced sideways and saw his grey vest lying next to Seunghyun's bright blue jacket. Jonghun's breath hitched as Seunghyun nibbled his jaw line while taking off his faded necktie.
He noticed the movement of the boy ceasing as Jonghun little moved. Sure, he felt attracted to the boy, but a big part of him screamed, 'it's too early'.
As if sensing his feelings, Seunghyun backed away, his hazy sight not meeting Jonghun's guilty orbs. "This is a one night stand, for Christmas's sake…" Jonghun chuckled slowly, it somehow amused him. At least, he won't be alone sprawled in his cold dorm. With a heavy heart and a heavier conscience, Jonghun's arms warmed up to Seunghyun's smaller frame with a light hug.
"Thank you, Seunghyun" though Seunghyun spoke with formalities, Jonghun found it a lot more awkward if the older person spoke formally. He patted Seunghyun's butt with a cheesy smile forming as fast as the blush spreading in Seunghyun's mouthwatering cheeks.
Jonghun decides to take a shower and Seunghyun didn't mind. The older man stayed longer in the shower, he felt nervous all of a sudden. He had sex before with Hongki and other partners; most of the times were merely for exploration purposes. However, he is quite sure that Seunghyun had done this before. As he rinsed his body with the water, he noticed a hickey that hid behind his ear and closer to his nape. When Seunghyun did have his lips over his neck? Jonghun fought the blush that formed for unreasonable reasons.
Seunghyun's ways of heating up his body were so different from Hongki's. The boy used his long fingers to stroke Jonghun's nape. Jonghun's whole body relaxed to the strong grab of Seunghyun's hands over his temples, and neck.
"I never got spoiled… uh, this feels nice." Jonghun mumbled. He could not help but feel how much Seunghyun pampered him. When it came to Hongki, Jonghun had to work and prepare his boyfriend if they are having sex.
Seunghyun's hands began removing the bath robe and he leaned forward to kiss Jonghun's nape. Jonghun felt tingles when Seunghyun flicked his tongue across that hickey. He closed his eyes as another hum of enjoyment escaped his lips. He was slowly lying down his fagged body on Seunghyun's bed, and taking the most space on Seunghyun's soap reeking body. He smelled the fresh minty smell and he couldn't think of anything but the intoxicating scent.
Jonghun lost his robe while Seunghyun topped him, their mouths found each other for the first time that night. Jonghun's eyes flared open as he tasted a crazier taste inside Seunghyun's mouth and on the tip of his tongue. He pulled away with a smack to their lips. He felt giggles building in his throat and he became very sleepy. Seunghyun's eyes were hazy with lust and tiredness.
Before Seunghyun could steal another kiss, Jonghun grabbed his forearm and stopped him with a gentle smile. Seunghyun landed next to him, and without words, he spooned Jonghun into his longer arms. He was smaller than Jonghun but his body was still strong and built. Jonghun felt strong abs against his back and built arms against his torso. He was not ashamed of his own body either, he had been working out.
"Merry Christmas, Jonghun" Seunghyun mumbled into Jonghun's dampish hair. He did not forget to thoroughly dry their bodies before his touches turned more sensual than volunteering.
"Merry Christmas, Seunghyun… thank you" Jonghun did not forget to breathe in the strong scent of manliness that leaked off this stranger. Oh, how warm and comforting this Christmas turned out to be.
Summer was hotter than anyone expected it to be, but who actually can tell whether it would be hot or not. Jonghun swapped off the sweaty lock of his longish hair from blinding his sight. He had been working out and rehearsing with his guitar for four hours now.
He had been working on his new debut album since he just signed with a much known company that allowed him to write his own music with his very good friend Jonghyun. The two had a break today but Jonghun was very dedicated to his guitar rehearsals and his piano rehearsals. He knew Jonghyun would probably be in his vocal lessons so he would polish his perfect talents.
He felt a soft knock on the door. Sweaty and tired, he smiled widely as he allowed his boyfriend to enter. They met midway the big studio where Seunghyun often visited. Jonghun did not want the fresh boy to get dirty with his sweaty tank top and shorts but Seunghyun was persistent to make out with him every time they met outside their apartment.
It's been three seasons since they met on that cold, cold day and Jonghun can't grasp the meaning of their relationship yet, he probably didn't want to. His thoughts disappeared as Seunghyun's long fingers twined with his fingers as their lips touched delicately before Seunghyun managed to get him all hot and bothered with his talented tongue and lips.
They part away with a soft glare from Jonghun but Seunghyun knows very much how to calm down that glare. He turns Jonghun to face the mirror and he lazily hugs him from the back and to support his head, he places his right cheek against Jonghun's left cheek. They sway a little while watching the reflection of their united bodies. Jonghun was not much of a clinger, but he knows that Seunghyun spoils him too much and comforts him perfectly, too perfectly that the guitarist is unable to think of a way of living without this human being called Song Seunghyun.
This had been a very good year, Jonghun is very thankful. He is thankful for Hongki for never keeping faith in their dooming relationship. He is thankful for those tears that stopped him from carrying that deep sorrow inside and just spilled over his face. His thoughts begin to thank a lot of that day's happenings, like the guitar, the apartment, the shower, the bed, and the amazing sex where Seunghyun topped him like a boss…
He begins to chuckle but Seunghyun broke his train of embarrassing and rated thoughts with whispers of his affections. Like always, everything Seunghyun thinks of automatically comes out of his mouth.
It was that cute and adorable part of Seunghyun that Jonghun adored and barely got used to it. But there are other manly and quiet parts that Jonghun is drawn to like a magnet. He wants to repay Seunghyun with the same affectionate words, but he finds his emotion very much more than love. He believes he needs time to sort his thoughts, therefore in the time being, he will keep kissing Seunghyun's gorgeous mouth after he says those even better words of' I love you'.
