dude! DUDE! i can't even believe this post. you're just. you're AWESOME!

i think i already gave you recs on your last request, and since then i've listened to let us in, and i've started reparo so i have nothing new to report.

pretty sure the amplificathon is not currently running, btw. i mean, the comm is always open, but the challenge has closed for the year.

anyway *SMISH*

HAHA YAY! dude, thank you! also can i just say. i have never really done a post like this, so i have never followed myself through my own research/introductory process before -- so after the week was over and i opened the folder of bookmarks, i was like, what. never realized i'd looked at so much until i had to code it all, lols. woohoo!

fixed the note on amplificathon, also thank you AGAIN for the recs i am loving listening as much as i can. my roommate must think i've become a complete crazy person - my headphones are ALWAYS ON: dishes, laundry, grocery shopping, sleeping, sometimes just sitting in a chair in the living room staring out the window. addicted. your fault.

no, this is just WONDERFUL! it really is! there's a lot of traffic on amplificathon, so i don't keep it on my flist, though i am a member, and we're trying to start having more discussion, too. if you're into that sort of thing. but yeah, it's the best!

ALSO! podficcing is really really easy. and the software is free for pcs and you can do it with just a headphone mic. i would recommend getting one that says it's noise canceling, and that should maybe run you about $20 - $30. you CAN spend more, but you don't have to. i recorded ALL my stuff on a head mic that i bought for less than 30 NIS (shekels, israeli money, divide that by 4 to get a dollar amount) i just got a new noise canceling mic and it's SO MUCH BETTER and thus VERY EXCITING but still not very expensive.

do you know? i totally encouraged penny to start recording! so you should really tell me now if you want me to stop because otherwise i will be a very enthusiastic encourager!

addicted. your fault.i accept all blame and take full responsibility WITH PRIDE ( ... )

haha you are so welcome, i am glad to make it easy for anyone who's interested - i had concerns similar to yours, so understand the desire to tread lightly. i have found, while listening to certain recordings, that the story is being told to me in a way i never would have heard it, and is being given a life i would possibly not have given it ( ... )

Some more recs :D. All awesome readers and great recording qualities:

- ann_ciudad - she's fantastic! (But perhaps not that well known.) Her reading of ninhursag's "Credit in the straight world" is one of my all time favourites. (It's pre-series Sam/Dean). I highly recommend it :).

- roque_clasique! Listening to her recording of vorpalblades story "That's me in the spotlight" made me giggle hysterically while I was outside walking home. People were giving me *looks* XD. It was awesome.

- I can't believe no one mentioned issaro yet. She was one of the very first podficcers for SN, and still one of the best, no question. She hasn't done anything in a while, but I just checked and apparently she's planning to post new podfic this year \o/. Here's her lj page ( ... )

:D!

Speaking of Fayjay, have you come across her reading of "Restraint" (by darkemeralds) yet? It's still a WIP, but it's already around 17 hours long. Epic doesn't really describe it accurately.

I'm not sure if I ever would've read the story based on the summary, but trust me it's SO worth it!

Summary by the author:
The calling card said Tristan Jarrett, Viscount Penrith. Beneath that, in a lazy scrawl, was the addendum Mr Acklebury, be so good as to wait on me tomorrow, number 10, Half Moon Street. Yours, &c., Penrith. Mr Acklebury was not sure how he felt about being thus summarily commanded to paint his lordship's portrait.

this is an amazing post. I've only recently been bitten by the podfic bug myself (as a listener, not as a recorder ... at least not yet), and, just, to read about such enthusiasm and have such a fantastic resource list is AWESOME. <3

ME TOO i have now been fantasizing so hard about getting a mic, it would make my day to just try it.

so so so glad you might find this useful, i had so much fun doing it, but it's way better knowing someone else might take direction from it! podfic is seriously seriously awesome, and i promise no matter your ship these recs will not disappoint. these ladies are good at what they do. reowr.
