[LJHOOK FTW]

Tris hadn't seen the point in going to class. She had slept in late that morning, not even bothering to send an owl or excuse along as to why she was absent. Sure, she'd skipped class a few times in the past, but... it was never like this before. Bugger NEWTs, she had decided, and bugger everything else.

Why did any of it matter?

She'd agreed to meet Dari, though, because if she wasn't going to class? She was going to spend time with her best friend -- she didn't want to be alone, didn't want Dari to be alone (too much had been happening and she had to be there for hr friend), because... she couldn't handle this, even if she wouldn't admit it. It was breaking her inside and she needed to be with someone.

Slipping on a small jacket on, she made her way out of the Hufflepuff common room, smiling weakly at her best friend as she lifted a hand in greeting. "... hey."

Dari had been doing better about her dad, but now.. this. Darin and Bastian were missing and it was not long after Trick had died and everything together just seemed to be piling up. Dari wasn't sure how much more she could take, honestly, which was probably why she had absolutely no desire to go to class.

What was the point, anyway? It wasn't like getting a ton of NEWTs was going to make any of this better. It just felt kind of pointless.

She smiled when she saw Tris, though, pushing herself off of the wall and moving to greet her best friend. "Hey," she returned quietly as she pulled the girl into a tight hug.

Classes. Psh. Any detention for not going would be worth it, even though a professor would have to be heartless to consider giving them out. She couldn't be bothered with it, or anything else at the moment.

Slipping her arms around Dari, Tris exhaled heavily. As much as she pretended otherwise, this was the sort of thing she needed, and anyone who knew her well enough would realize. She pulled back a bit, a weak smile on her face. "How're you feeling?" She asked in a soft tone. "I mean, aside from anything that might be obvious."

A professor would have to be heartless to give them detention and Dari found that she just didn't care about that, not when people she cared about were missing and possibly worse, not after everything that had happened in the past month or so.

"I'm alright," she said with a weak smile of her own. "I miss them," she added softly, chewing on her lip a little and tilting her head at Tris. "How about you? Are you.. well, I know you're not alright, but.." She trailed off into a sigh, because she didn't know what to say or how to make this better for either of them. "Stupid question, sorry."

Damn right they always had fun -- since she was still young and really not ready to grow up just yet. Hence, all of the adventures and things that she got herself into. After all, there'd be a point that she couldn't do these things anymore, so why not enjoy herself while she still could?

Glancing over her shoulder a bit, she grinned back at Dari. "Just think of all the sugar quills and sweets, eh? And the smell of the shop... and maybe we'll stock up on butterbeer too?"

Oh, Tris definitely knew her weakness and Dari grinned at that. "Mmmm, sugarquills. I think I've got Jer's stash down to a dozen," she mused aloud. Yes, she'd definitely have to get some more of those - for his dorm as well as her own. "Oh, and butterbeer. We definite will have to do that!"

This was going to be great. Dari was getting excited enough about the prospect of sweets and butterbeer that she was forgetting to even worry about getting caught or anything else. Or think about other things. Which was probably half the point of doing this, so that was good.

"I'm in the mood for some Chocoballs, myself," she said. "And, oh! Fizzing Whizbees..." She sighed. "So many fantastic things..."

Tris wasn't thinking. At all. Well, not about things that weren't Dari or the trip they were currently making. Anything else bothered her too much and the whole point of this was to not think about those things.

The trip was dark and a bit damp, but it wasn't long before they reached the end of the passage. Carefully, she pushed on the trap door, biting her bottom lip a little. "We're here..." She grinned a little more. "And it won't be overcrowded or understocked since... well, nobody's here."

Oh, Dari was growing hungrier for sweets by the minute! That all sounded so fantastic and she couldn help growing a little impatient, but just as she was about to complain that she wanted to BE there already, Tris was opening the trap door.

"Oh, I can't wait!" she exclaimed, waiting for Tris before she climbed through the door. "This is definitely one of your more brilliant ideas."
