For once in her life, Sam wasn't focused on schoolwork, studying, or anything of that sort. Normally, the girl had her nose buried in her studies, but today she had decided to take a break from all of that and enjoy herself. She had decided to head outside for a change, something she normally only did when it came to Quidditch matches.

Huh.

The weather was nicer than usual, so that only added to the girl's natural good mood. Wrapping her arms about herself, she headed outside, a small sigh escaping her lips.

Hearing the wonderful sound of a feminine sigh, Preston lifted his head and looked about his surroundings until he spotted the oh-so-lovely Samantha. Putting on a grin that would rival that of his father, he sat up and gave her a nod of his head.

"You're looking lovely today," he observed, forcing his eyes to not take her in completely.

There was a handful of girls who actually liked that sort of thing, and he had a feeling that Sam wasn't one of them. So he'd at least control himself.

[AHAHA. That was the ONLY REASON I was a little hesitant to change. And then I realized I have no willpower and had to give in. D:]

The sound of a voice caused her to jump a bit, since she'd been a little lost in her own thoughts and what the person had said registered, her cheeks flushed. "... thanks," she finally said, biting her bottom lip lightly.

When she caught sight of who had been speaking, her brow raised a bit, but of course she was as nice as ever. "How're you today, Preston?" She asked as she tilted her head to the side a little. "I'm surprised to see you out here."

Preston loved that Sam was always so very polite to him, even though he and Darin were probably some of the bitterest enemies within the school.

Either Sam really had class and upbringing, or Darin wasn't really worth hating someone over... He really liked to think that it was a combination of the two, because honestly? Since when was DeLoise worth anything? Ha!! He'd have to remember that one. Later. At some point.

"I'm doing quite well, Miss Pascal," he replied, grinning. "And why surprised?" he added, looking around them at the open air. "I don't spend all my time in the dungeons, dollface."
