Ah, I'm sorry. It is always sad when loved shows are canceled but even more so this time because I think you are absolutely right about soaps as a medium passing away and the generational loss.

My grandmother was a CBS soaps fan for over thirty years and I have very nice memories about doing homework to As The World Turns. And of course as a young teen I would pretend I wasn't paying attention but I totally was. :)

Even as an adult I would often keep soaps on at my coffee shop during the day. It is very sad that such a generational thing is being replaced by talk and reality shows.

Sorry I haven't been around much, by the way. I've been away from the computer and my phone doesn't always agree with Livejournal. :)

It's okay. I'm glad I have someone to bond with over this. It's the end of a legacy and I'm torn up about it. I believe the head of ABC Daytime called soap operas daytime dinosaurs a couple of years back, and he's making jokes about the cancellation now. It's absolutely infuriating and insulting.
