I read "Leibowitz" the first time because a bunch of people told me it was an Important Book and I have to agree with barongiles, it was a slog. I started to read it again last year because some other teachers at my school were reading it and talking about it at lunch, got about 40 pages in and quit. I don't think I'll pick it up again, for all the reasons you mentioned.
A Game of Thrones sounds interesting, maybe when my life takes a break from being Project Central, I'll look for a copy. Is it out in paperback or just hard covers?

I thought about going in to my room, but since the printer still isn't printing and the AC is off and I can't turn it on, I decided to stay home and sew.

"Game of Thrones" is out in paperback, in fact I just read the paperback, but be warned-there are four books (maybe 5?) in the series and each one is the size of a brick. So once you get hooked...you get more material and a bicep workout.

I think Game of Thrones is an excellent read - but keep in mind that i'ts just Book 1 of ..5? maybe 4. Anyway, a huge reading commitment.

True, but I'm really liking it and it's good escapism, which I'll totally need for the school year.
