Bookmarking that Daredevil one. Thanks for the rec. I keep seeing stuff about identity porn but somehow I’ve managed to not ever read anything like that, so I don’t really get what it is. Can you rec me something (not Steve/Tony or Sterek, sorry)?

It's generally a trope set in superhero stories. It's quite common in Avengers because for example Tony, in the comics, kept his identity as Tony Stark being Iron Man a secret for a long time. (The Avengers thought Iron Man was employed by Tony and his body guard, so a separate person). So you need a superhero that is not out, like Batman or Spiderman, even Daredevil. I tried finding a good Daredevil one for you, and my favourite is

we just lost the beat, Matt/Foggy

it's an AU, where Foggy hasn't known Matt for long (he's Daredevil too), and they are neighbors and Matt calls on Foggy's radio show. That kind of stories, with mysterious caller on the radio, are also identity porn in their own way, so superheroes are not obligatory.

It's hard to pull it off in regular Daredevil canon setting because Matt and Foggy have known each other for so long, it's even harder to believe than usual (identity porn is always a bit silly and need a certain degree of the characters being willfully ignorant at time). It's so great that this challenge got you more involved in things that you had thought were slipping away or are new! And that you met some new people too! the thing about not commenting is that it's a vicious circle. I mean... I did read my flist, and I read those fics, but I just didn't take the time to comment often or just left a kudo. but I've been frankly very good about commenting this week and it's really working for me because the renewed interaction is great. so yeah.
